Bought the base shoes that are going to be demolished and redone and plotted out how to do the retractable claws courtesy of a tutorial someone posted on Coscom that was linked to me by Steph. They are spring loaded, but you have to manually retract them. So, my dad and I were brainstorming a way to make them easier to retract.

We diagrammed it out and made a supply list, but shopping for work clothes really took me out of doing any progress on it.

Next weekend, I'm going to work more on getting the shoes ready to attach the bases to and to carve out/make the paw base block.
